The town is only miles from the Pennsylvania and New Jersey borders. At Tri-State Rock you can stand on New York, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey at the same time.

Port Jervis is only 55 miles northwest of New York City, 90 miles southwest of Albany, and 50 miles east of Scranton.

The city has fishing, boating, tennis and many golf courses.

The community schedules many events throughout the, including Heritage Days in July, Fall Festival in October, and Dazzle on the Delaware in the Spring. Nearby New Hope Farms offers many popular singing celebrities such as Willy Nelson.

The town has a historic railroad (Erie) and canal (D & H Canal). The Erie Railroad Station and the neighboring Erie Hotel has been restored, and work is underway to restore the original turntable.

Port Jervis is minutes from High Point State Park and the Kittatinny Mountains. Also nearby are the Pocono Mountains, the Catskeill Mountains, High Point State Park, and the Delaware River.

Hawks Nest is a scenic drive overlooking the Delaware River. During spring and, enjoy rides from Port Jervis to NYC on a historical steam engine.

Fall Foliage is excellent in early October.
