Surroundings

The cabin is remote and very quiet, and the property is wooded and mountainous. The mountain cabin is in the heart of the Klamath Mountains, nestled among large ancient fir trees and majestic hardwoods - making it the perfect base camp to explore the surrounding rivers and mountains or just relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The wild and scenic Klamath and Salmon Rivers are nearby.

Water recreation includes swimming, fishing, boating, canoeing, kayaking, and whitewater rafting. Guided fishing and whitewater raft trips can be arranged with the local licensed outfitters. Fish include steel head, rainbow trout and salmon. Drift boat fishing is popular. Local rafting and kayaking opportunities range from world class IV and V runs on the Salmon River during spring or less rambunctious Class II, III and IV runs on the Klamath River.

Other nearby recreation includes hiking, mountain bicycling, snowmobiling, downhill and cross-country skiing, and hunting.

The Siskiyou and Marble Mountain Wilderness areas of Klamath National Forest offer many miles of mountain trails leading to high peaks, mountain meadows full of wildflowers and many beautiful lakes. Wildlife such as elk, black bears and osprey abound in this wild section of California. Great swimming holes of pure, clean mountain water can be found nearby at the mouth of Dillon Creek or along many miles of the Salmon River. Redwood National Park is a 2 hour drive west and Mt. Shasta is a 2 hour drive east.
