Rental Rates and SeasonsThe Maine vacation cottage is available for rent all year. Summer rates are by the week only at $700 per week. Winter rates are $300 for the first two nights and $100 for each additional night or $700 for the week (exception for Fishing Derby Weekend). Off season rates are $250 for the first two nights and $100 for each additional night or $700 for the week. Accommodation DetailsThis cottage, built in the seventies, has just gone through a complete remodeling. Everything is new but retains that northern Maine warm camp feel. Knotty pine walls, wood stove and a view to die for. Located feet from the lake and among thousands of acres of wood lands makes this spot the perfect place for families to develop cherished memories. Very quiet and private. The vacation cottage has 2 bedrooms/1 bath, and sleeps 5 in beds plus pull-out couch. The cottage has a TV, VCR/DVD and kitchen with a coffee maker, microwave, dishes, and pots and pans. Linens and towels are provided except during winter months. The lakefront property has a beach, boat launch, pier, barbecue grill, and fire pit. Pets are welcome - must be under owners control. Plenty of space for off leash walks. Smoking is outside only. The house is not handicapped accessible. SurroundingsThe cottage is on Schoodic Lake among beautiful woodlands. Water recreation includes swimming, snorkeling, trophy fishing, water skiing, and canoeing. Other nearby recreation includes golf, hiking, bicycling, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing, white water rafting, ice fishing, and hunting. Camp is located on birch point, one of the best fishing spots on the lake. 8 lb togue ( lake trout ) are common. The lake is crystal clear, spring fed and has a rocky bottom. On a clear day one can see bottom in 50 feet of water. On the eastern non developed shore, many sandy bottomed coves lure boaters for a private swim. To the north is a most beautiful view of Mains highest peak, Mount Katahdin. Baxter State Park ( northern Maine Mountains and woods ) and Acadia National Park ( Main rocky Coast ) would make great day trips from camp. Schoodic Lake is 10 miles long , 2 miles wide and has a water depth of 188 feet. Fish include togue ( lake trout ), salmon, brook trout, bass and cusk. Additional InformationDirections: from all points, I-95 north to exit 53 ( Milo/ Lagrange ) Left on to RT 16. Follow all the way to Milo ( approx 25 miles ) Turn right in Milo. Follow RT 11 for 3 miles. Turn right after Mobil station. cross rail road tracks and bridge. Follow road for 2.5 miles. Turn right on to Schoodic lake rd. follow for 4 miles. Cross railroad tracks and turn left onto Fire road 5 ( dirt ). follow for 4 miles. Turn right onto Fire road 12 ( marked with name and lot numbers ) turn right at your second road onto fire road 11 ( Marked ). Birch point camp is marked with sign at end of drive. Solitude awaits.
