A Cottage UP North is a four season vacation home on 5 wooded acres with 330 feet of shore on Lake Superior. Less than 1 mile from Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, on the snowmobile trail so you can ride from your door. The main level has a living room, dining room, and kitchen combo with access to the back deck facing the lake. On the main level there is also a bedroom with a stone, wood burning fireplace and a full bath. The upper level has a king size bedroom with access to the front deck (balcony), and a spacious den. The lower level (down a spiral staircase from the living room) has a family room with a pull out couch, access to the patio facing the lake, and a queen size bedroom and full bath.

The cottage has 3 bedrooms/ 2 baths and sleeps 10. The cottage has heat, a fireplace, deck, balcony, phone, satellite TV, VCR, and CD player. The fully-equipped kitchen has a coffee maker, microwave, dishwasher, dishes, and pots and pans. Linens and towels are provided.

The lakefront property has a beach, barbecue grill, fire pit, and picnic table.

Pets and smoking are not allowed. The house is not handicapped accessible.

Surroundings

The home is secluded and quiet, and the property is wooded. Nearby water recreation includes swimming, boating, and fishing. Other nearby recreation includes golf, hiking, bicycling, horseback riding, snowmobiling, downhill and cross-country skiing, and hunting.

A Cottage UP North is located less than 1 mile from the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park where you will find trails for long or short hikes and scenic overlooks. The Visitor Center offers interesting exhibits and there are special programs and guided hikes offered by the Rangers. Winter brings lots of snow to the UP and the snowmobile trail is right at the door. The downhill ski hill in the Porkies offers 15 runs, 4 lifts, a Chalet with a rental shop, and an outstanding view of Lake Superior as you ski down the slopes. Cross country skiers will enjoy the 23 miles of groomed trails in the Park.

Lake Superior covers 49,000 sq miles and has a maximum water depth of 1,335 feet. Many types of fish are in the lake including white fish and trout.
