Accommodation detailsRight on Lake Huron! Relax and unwind at our delightfully unique cottages this summer. Peaceful privacy is yours at the Seadog or Nymph. The 75 foot beach is a small but beautiful window onto the majesty of the great lakes. Sun on the beachside patios or swing on the shady bank- either way you're just steps from the water, with it's sandy swimming beach. The 2 old-fashioned cottages have been owned by the same family since the 1930's. The Seadog sleeps 6. It has 2 bedrooms, each with a closet and dresser. Its back bedroom has a new queen-size bed, and the front bedroom has a double bed with windows that open out onto the porch overlooking the lake. The living room has a fireplace, sleeper sofa, chairs, and a loveseat. The large kitchen and dining area seats 8 people. The bathroom has a bathtub and shower. Seadog has several ceiling fans. The screened porch has bunk beds, a twin love-seat sleeper, futon, and breakfast table. There is a patio with a BBQ charcoal grill. The Seadog has a 20" TV/DVD. Also city water! The quaint storybook Nymph accommodates 5 people. It has 1 bedroom with a queen cherry sleigh bed. The living room has a wood stove, "extra long daybed" and regular sofa, and chair. The dining room seats 6 and overlooks the large screened porch with bunk beds and a day bed. The Nymph sits 75 feet behind the Seadog, with partial lake views. Nymph has an electric baseboard heat system as well as its Jotul glass door woodstove, and also 2 ceiling fans. There is an outdoor patio off the porch, facing the lake. Also a charcoal grill on a little patio. This cottage has a 20" TV/DVD. Also city water and air conditioning! Both cottages have fully equipped kitchens. The bedrooms have blankets. All you need to bring are sheets, towels and paper products. Sheets can also be provided for an additional charge of $10 per bed or $40 per cottage. We appreciate guests leaving the cottages in the condition that they find them (clean) :.) Pets and smoking are not allowed. The cottages are not handicap accessible or child proofed. |
SurroundingsThe cottages share a 75-foot beach in a quiet residential area. The property has a gently-sloping sand and pebble beach perfect for swimming or relaxing in the chairs. There are no large rocks on our beach :). From the shady bank above the beach, rock gently in a wooden swing, or go down a few steps and sun on the patio. Nighttime bonfires are always popular! The view from the front yard or from inside the Seadog is beautiful during the day, and the passing freighter lights in the distance are captivating at night. Star watching is a popular pastime. Water recreation includes swimming and fishing. Other recreation nearby includes golf, tennis, and bicycling. Lexington itself is an undiscovered treasure for the visitor. Much to do in the area: beachside parks, golf, tennis, antiques, restaurants, delis, and lakeside expresso bars are less than 7 miles away. We're the perfect spot for a vacation close to home! Lexington now has a new theater! Keep an eye on this amazing vacation spot. Port Huron is another fascinating city. The river walkway + freighter watching alone are a must do. We are about 10 minutes from Lexington, 20 minutes from Port Huron. Additional informationDirections: We are located right on Lakeshore Road (also called M-25), 1/2 way between Port Huron and Lexington - a mile or 2 over the Sanilac County line, between Orchard Beach and Rhoales Beach at 8469 and 8471 Lakeshore Road. Attention! House numbers reverse at the county line which can be confusing. We are 1 mile north of "Luskey's Landing". Note: There is a mistake on www.mapquest.com and www.maps.google.com -- when you search for our house #s, a road is shown between the cottages and the lake which is not really there!
