October Ridge Resort is located on 39 isolated acres at the south end of Island Lake – just south of Northome, MN. We are bordered by miles of Chippewa National Forest. See some of the most desolate country in Minnesota – hikers and naturalists love it here! There are mowed nature trails throughout the property. The Island Lake snowmobile trail crosses the property. The trails will take you into some of the wildest parts of the Northwood so you can see all the Northwood’s animals. Island Lake covers about 3088 acres and has a maximum water depth of 37 feet. The walleye fishing on Island Lake has been very good and is one of the best walleye lakes in Minnesota. The northerns are also plentiful and fairly good size. The perch population is very high with an average size of about 9 to 12 inches. Muskie are present along with crappies, large mouth bass, and the bluegills have been fairly common the last few years with average size of about ¾ lb.
