Accommodation Details

With eight units located on the north shore of Big Sand Lake, and one on the east shore of North Twin Lake, you'll be sure to find the cottage that fits your needs. Whether you are alone, or in a group ... looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life, or just need a change of scenery ... this is truly the place for you.

All cottages include VCR, TV, full kitchen with modern appliances, utensils, charcoal grills, picnic tables, and private piers. All cabins are privately owned and used by the renters when not rented. We ask that all guests please respect their property.

A 14' aluminum boat is furnished with each rental. 6 hp and 9.5 hp motors available at extra cost plus gas. Blankets, pillows and bed pads are provided, however, we do not furnish sheets, pillowcases, or towels. No pets are allowed in any of the cottages.

C.H. Meyer home
C.H. Meyer home is located in a beautiful setting on the north shore of Big Sand Lake. The home is a split-level with rental units on the upper level and one at lower ground level. The total unit up and down sleeps 14.

The lower unit has two bedrooms with a double bed in each. A kitchen area with an electric stove, refrigerator, and freezer, plus a floor freezer for fish. Living area has a sofa, TV & VCR, lounge chairs, and a dinning table with view of the lake. Gas heat, sleeps five, shower in bathroom.

The upper unit has two bedrooms on entry level with twin beds in each bedroom. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower combinations. A complete kitchen and dinning area, also a large living room with a sofa, loveseat, lounge chairs, and TV & VCR. Also provided is a large floor freezer for fish. The second floor has a large bedroom with two double beds with privacy curtain. The total upper unit will sleep nine people. There is forced air gas heat. Both units have microwaves.

Blue Loon Hideaway
A unique cottage on North Twins Lake. The cottage is nestled in a grove of shady pine trees on the eastern edge of North Twin Lake. The Blue Loon has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and a set of bunk beds. The other has 3 twin beds. Sleeps 7. No smoking.

Hodge Podge Lodge
This unit is great for large families or groups. The Hodge Podge Lodge main unit has two bedrooms with two twin beds in each and a double fold-out - sleeps 6. The Upper Unit above garage has 3 double beds and two twin beds - sleeps 8. Total Guest house and garage sleeps 14.

Walleyed Pike
The Walleyed Pike is on Big Sand Lake and has 3 bedrooms, 1 with a set of bunk beds, 1 with 2 twin beds, and 1 with a queen size bed, also 1 fold-out hide-a-bed. Cottage maximum is 6 persons. Smoking is allowed.

Crows Nest
The Crows Nest is on Big Sand Lake and has 2 bedrooms with queen size beds. A nice fully equipped kitchen. Living room with a davenport for extra guest. Up to 4 guests. Smoking allowed.

Blue Gill
The Blue Gill is on Big Sand Lake and has 3 bedrooms; 2 with queen size beds, 1 with double bed, 1 double hide-a-way in living area. Cottage maximum is 8. Smoking is allowed.

The Ginks on big Sand Lake
The two Gink cottages, the Birch and the Hawk, are located on the North Shore of beautiful Big Sand Lake. Both cottages are two bedroom units with two double beds. Our Birch cabin sits about 30 feet from the lake and sleeps 5. The Hawk cabin sits back from the lake about 100 feet and sleeps six, with a pullout couch. Each cottage has a living area combined with a kitchen, completely furnished with dishes, pots/pans, utensils, and etc. Each has a refrigerator, stove, TV's with VCR 's, and floor freezers for fish. They also have showers in the bathroom, heaters to take the chill out on a cool/rainy day or night.

Everything in the cabins is furnished except for sheets, pillowcases, towels, toiletries, and personal items. There is a nice fish cleaning house with lights and running water.

We have a lawn area at the lake, which includes lawn chairs, swing, small fire pit at lakeside. Both cabins have a grill and picnic table for outdoor dinning. Paddle boat available at no charge. Smoking is allowed in both cottages.

Surroundings

The Wisconsin Northwoods has an abundance of wildlife, wild flowers, loons, eagles, and marvelous fishing - truly a nature getaway. In the area you will find bike and snowmobile trails, golf courses, horseback riding, cross-country and down hill skiing. In Big Sand there is a public 9 hole golf course in the surrounding area of the Nicolet National Forest.

Within a 20 mile radius you will find antique shops, casinos, gift shops, theatres, candy stores, grocery stores, and shopping in abundance. There is excellent dining in the many wonderful restaurants and pubs.

Big Sand Lake is a 1400-acre lake with over 60% of its shoreline natural (fishermen should note the 60' deep hole on the east-end). Fish include trophy musky, walleye, large & small mouth bass, crappies, northern pike, perch, and blue gills.

North Twin Lake is a 2800 acre lake known for it's trophy walleyes, and trophy muskies. South Twin is connected to North Twin and contains panfish and northerns.

Both lakes are large, and have plenty of room. Water recreation includes swimming, fishing, water skiing, jet skiing, and sailing. Each has a large accessible boat landing with ample parking.
